About Brigitte Rivet
Founder of the school in 1996.
Originally from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Brigitte discovered Napierville through the Loisirs, for which she taught keyboard and music awareness.
She then worked at the Napierville Art Studio, directed by Sylvie Gagnon, where she taught music initiation, piano, keyboard and flute. When the Napierville art studio closed, and encouraged by Mrs. Gagnon, Brigitte Rivet rented a space on de l'Église Street to offer her services and hired her first teachers.
In September 2011, the School moved to new premises on St-Jacques Street, opposite the SAQ. Brigitte Rivet and her husband Sylvain Allard (owner of the bike store Nat Cycles et Sports) acquired a house and garages in order to relocate their two businesses to the same place.
In 2008, Brigitte Rivet acquiredÉcole de musique Jocelyne Laberge in Châteauguay. The teachers are the same for both establishments, which facilitates the production of joint projects. Indeed, students from both schools come together for certain activities, such as the shows presented in December and June.
About the Jocelyne Laberge Method
We use the Jocelyne Laberge method for our introductory music courses.
With this dynamic method of teaching music, children learn the basics of music reading while having fun. The complete method comprises two volumes of 40 rhymes. Each note has a specific color, and children learn to read music with the xylophone and practice their rhythms with the percussion instruments.
